Visitors to your status page can subscribe by email to receive a message
whenever you announce an incident update or a scheduled maintenance event. No setup is required: when your account is on a Business or Enterprise plan, a "Subscribe" button appears automatically on each of your status pages.

**How it works:**

Current incidents and scheduled maintenance events will be sent as long as the “Announce” option is checked. If the events were queued in advance, a notification will be sent when the event starts.

Updates posted with the "Announce" option unchecked are not sent. Retroactive incidents are never emailed to subscribers.

**A few other things about the feature:**

1. **Subscription is double opt-in.** Notifications will not reach the user until they confirm their address in a test email.
2. **Every notification includes an unsubscribe link.** Addresses that hard-bounce or report a message as spam are unsubscribed automatically.
3. **Multiple quick updates are combined.** If multiple events are announced within a minute or two, the notifications will be combined into one email to prevent spam issues.
