When Honeybadger creates a GitHub issue for an error, you can now specify an **issue type**—like Bug, Feature, or Task—so those issues land in your GitHub workflow already categorized, just like issues your team creates manually.

![Honeybadger GitHub integration settings form with fields for Repository name, Labels, Issue type (set to "Bug"), and Title format, with "Enable GitHub alerts" checked.](https://www-files.honeybadger.io/changelog/github-issue-types/github-issue-type.png)

Here's how to set it up:

1. In Honeybadger, go to **Project → Settings → Alerts & integrations → GitHub**
2. Enter the issue type name in the new **Issue type** field (e.g., `Bug`)
3. Save your settings

The type name must match one of the types [defined in your GitHub organization](https://docs.github.com/en/issues/tracking-your-work-with-issues/using-issues/managing-issue-types-in-an-organization).

See the [GitHub integration guide](https://docs.honeybadger.io/guides/integrations/github/) to learn more about how Honeybadger integrates with GitHub.
